To kick off Thanksgiving week, Xtreme participated in one of our favorite community events, the Turkey Trot. A team of 15 runners from our Kirkland and Redmond offices participated in Hopelink’s 15th Annual Turkey Trot 5k on Sunday, November 22nd. Hopelink is a non-profit social services agency that helps move families and individuals from crisis to self-sufficiency in North and East King County. Proceeds from the event help provide emergency services and holiday assistance to low-income families during the winter months.
The 3.1-mile course started at Marina Park and had a half-way turnaround right next door to our Kirkland office in Carillon Point. It was a fast and flat course, perfect for both runners and walkers.
Over 1,400 community members ran, walked, and trotted down the beautiful course along the Kirkland waterfront. “Trotters” dressed as turkeys, pumpkin pies, and we even saw some runners recording their race with selfie sticks.
This was our third consecutive year forming an Xtreme Team for the Turkey Trot, and Hopelink does a wonderful job with it every year.
