Kirkland, WA – Xtreme President & CEO Greg Rankich was named the Man of the Year for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Washington/Alaska Chapter.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Man & Woman of the Year campaign is an annual fundraising competition in communities across the U.S. in which participants compete for the title of Man or Woman of the Year by raising funds for blood cancer research. The title is awarded to the man or woman in each community that raises the most funds during the ten-week campaign, which is in honor of two local leukemia survivors – the Boy & Girl of the Year.
Greg Rankich competed against eight other community and business leaders for the title and raised funds through an online fundraising website and auction.
The 2014 Man and Woman of the Year for the Washington/Alaska chapter was announced at the Grand Finale Celebration on Saturday, May 17th at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront, where candidates, survivors, sponsors, campaign teams, friends, family, and other LLS supporters gathered to honor the Boy & Girl of the Year and the achievements of all of the candidates. Final fundraising amounts will be announced on July 1st, 2014.
