Kirkland, WA -A newly formed partnership between Xtreme Consulting Group, Inc. and InterConnection, announced today, is great for non-profits, the environment and InterConnection’s mission of bridging the digital divide. Through the partnership, Xtreme commits to donating retired computers used by their employees for charitable reuse and responsible recycle.
Interconnection is a non-profit organization that helps under-deserved and disadvantaged communities around the world gain access to computers and technology. They accomplish this mission by providing high-quality refurbished desktop and laptop computers to other non-profit and non-governmental organizations. Interconnection focuses on computer reuse as an alternative to recycling, and is committed to providing responsible green disposal for toxic or unusable equipment.
“If all companies followed Xtreme Consulting Group’s example, we would be a lot closer to bridging the digital divide,” stated Rasmus Mortensen, InterConnection Corporate Donor Lead of IT Assets. “Their initial donation of more than 50 laptops will benefit non-profits throughout the U.S. as well as local low-income families and students. We are excited about this partnership and look forward to the many happy families, efficient non-profits and hard-working students who will benefit from Xtreme Consulting Group’s donation.”
Aside from helping those in need, Xtreme has significantly reduced the potential harm a computer can cause on our environment. Over 90% of Xtreme’s laptop donation was able to be refurbished and reused. Assuming that for every one product reused, one is not produced, Xtreme’s most recent donation eliminated 560 kilograms of harmful emissions and resulted in an environmental cost savings of over $6500.
The partnership between InterConnection and Xtreme ensures the company’s future IT asset donations will be used for charitable purposes.
