Xtreme’s client, a State Corrections Agency, utilized SharePoint 2007 Enterprise within its intranet, which was widely used throughout the company to accomplish various job duties. The client was experiencing two major usability issues regarding reporting and site design that ultimately affected its team’s productivity. After working successfully on past projects together, the client turned to Xtreme to update its intranet to be more efficient company-wide.
Making it happen
Xtreme quickly assembled a project team to design, build, implement, and maintain the client’s intranet. After deeply analyzing the existing intranet, Xtreme upgraded from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2013 Enterprise and redesigned the intranet to be more user-friendly for mobile and tablet devices.
Lastly, to improve reporting, Xtreme implemented Microsoft Power BI and Reporting Services to display the client’s internal reports that were dynamic, interactive, and colorful. In addition to the new software, Xtreme architected and implemented an Application Database System to allow for real-time data feeds to reports.
The new intranet positively impacted the client’s daily operations and provided its team quick access to vital information on any device. In addition, the client experienced the following benefits:
+ Significantly increased employee productivity due to eliminated lag time in reporting and exporting data
+ New robust reporting tool created a one-stop shop for employees to search, access, and report on the organization’s real-time data across any variable
+ SharePoint 2013 Enterprise
+ BootStrap for SharePoint (ShareBoot)
+ Microsoft Power BI
+ Microsoft Reporting Services
