The client needed a technical expert to migrate its two legal web portals from Microsoft SharePoint 2007 to Microsoft SharePoint 2010. The client was most concerned with a well-planned migration; it did not want to risk losing any of its existing content, features, or functionality during the upgrade.
Making it happen
Xtreme’s senior-level technical consultant performed a detailed analysis of the portals and created a comprehensive migration plan with mitigations for all potential issues, ensuring a successful migration. Once Xtreme’s onsite and offshore technical resources were in place, they were able to structure the mitigation in a consistent and continuous work stream, delivering both portals within 5 months of the initial engagement.
Following the successful migration, the client made Xtreme a preferred vendor. Xtreme now engages regularly on the client’s other technical projects and staffing requests.
+ The upgraded portals operated in the same fashion as did the old system, but utilized vastly improved SharePoint 2010 services, such as Metadata, Taxonomy, and FAST Search for SharePoint.
+ Xtreme proactively found and fixed issues in the less-frequently used portal areas.
